What this is
A printable planning sheet for the students who have finished their method series and now need a year built for them one piece at a time. Print one per student.
Page one: the shape of a year
Six slots that hold their shape from student to student: technique, something Baroque, something lyrical, something fast, a study, and one piece the student picks. The shape is the part you should not have to rebuild every August. Only the titles underneath it change.
One of the six should sit clearly below level. That is the confidence piece, and it is the thing most often missing from a plan that looks right on paper and feels like a grind in the room.
Page two: four students who show up every fall
Reliable ground for the exam or festival student, the one who only wants movie and video game music, the adult returner, and the one who is technically ahead and musically behind. Named pieces, so you are choosing from a shortlist instead of a blank page, with space to add your own.
How to use it
Fill the shape in before the first lesson, then bring the whole list to the student and let them choose the order. The filtering is invisible to them, which is the point: everything on the page has already cleared your grading, so whichever piece they land on will keep them challenged, motivated, and inspired.
Print it, fill it in, hand it over. Yours free, for as many students as you teach.
