Privacy Policy
Last modified: To be confirmed
ClefRoom ("we," "us," or "our") is a brand of Minerva Labs LLC, a Michigan limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you visit clefroom.com (the "Website"). It applies to the Website only and not to ClefRoom.app. The Website is intended for users in the United States who are at least 13 years old.
We aim to collect as little as possible: we use privacy-hardened analytics, we do not run advertising, and we do not sell or share your personal information.
Information we collect
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 ("GA4"), delivered through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the Website. Google Tag Manager itself does not collect information or set cookies. GA4 collects:
- Online identifiers: a randomly generated user ID stored in a first-party cookie (not your name, email, or account ID), and a session identifier.
- Device and browser information: browser name and version, operating system, device type (desktop, mobile, or tablet), screen resolution, and language setting.
- Approximate location: city, region, and country, derived from your IP address. Your IP address is not stored or logged by GA4 — it is used only momentarily to determine approximate location and is then discarded.
- Browsing behavior: pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth (recorded when you scroll 90% of a page), outbound link clicks, file downloads, and any terms you enter into a search feature on the Website.
- Form interactions: when you begin interacting with a form and when you submit it, GA4 records the form's HTML element ID, name, destination URL, and submit-button text. It does not capture what you type into form fields — no email addresses, names, or message content.
- Traffic source: how you arrived (search engine, social media, direct visit, or a referring website), including the referring URL.
Information you provide
- Waitlist / early access: if you join our waitlist, we collect the email address you provide, through our email provider, Kit.
- Guide downloads: if you request one of our downloadable guides, we collect the email address you provide, also through Kit.
- Demo scheduling: if you book a demo, you provide scheduling information through Calendly, a third-party scheduling service, which handles that information under its own privacy policy.
- Contacting us: if you email us (for example, to express founding-partner interest), we receive the information you include in your message.
Technical and server data
Our hosting and content-delivery provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical information such as IP address and user-agent for security, fraud prevention, and reliable delivery of the Website. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track individuals across sites.
Information we do not collect
Given our configuration, we do not collect or use:
- advertising or remarketing data;
- cross-device tracking data;
- demographic data (age, gender, or interests);
- personally identifiable information through analytics (names, emails, or phone numbers); or
- third-party cookies — every cookie we set is a first-party cookie on clefroom.com.
Cookies
We set only two cookies, both first-party and both from Google Analytics:
_ga— duration approximately 2 years; distinguishes unique visitors by storing a randomly generated identifier._ga_[container ID]— duration approximately 2 years; maintains session state (whether a visit is a new or returning session).
We do not set advertising cookies (such as _gcl_aw, _gcl_au, or IDE) because we do not use Google Ads. Third-party services you actively interact with — such as the Calendly demo scheduler — may set their own cookies under their own policies. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- operate, maintain, and improve the Website;
- measure and understand aggregate traffic and usage;
- respond to your inquiries and schedule demos; and
- send you the updates you request, such as waitlist notifications.
How Google handles analytics data
We have configured GA4 so that Google acts only as our data processor, not as an independent controller, under the Google Ads Data Processing Terms (https://business.safety.google/adsprocessorterms/). Specifically:
- "Google products & services" data sharing is off;
- Google Signals is off (no cross-device tracking or demographic collection);
- IP anonymization is automatic (IP addresses are never stored);
- Enhanced Conversions is not enabled (no user-provided data is sent to Google); and
- user-level event data is retained for 2 months, while aggregated reports are retained on an ongoing basis.
Google describes how it uses data from sites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Third-party services
The Website relies on the following third parties, each with its own privacy practices:
- Google — Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console. Google Search Console is a webmaster tool that reports on how the Website appears in Google search results; it does not interact with visitors, does not set cookies, and does not collect any data from your visit;
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and cookieless Web Analytics;
- Kit — waitlist and email; and
- Calendly — demo scheduling.
We encourage you to review their privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and the purposes for which we use it, and to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Categories of personal information collected: online identifiers and internet or other electronic network activity (the analytics identifiers and usage data described above), approximate geolocation (city, region, and country), and — if you contact us or join the waitlist — the identifiers you provide, such as your email address.
- Purposes: as described in "How we use information" above.
- No sale or sharing: we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Because Google acts as our service provider and we do not use Google Ads, our use of analytics is not a "sale" or "share," and a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link is not required for this activity.
To exercise your rights, contact us at support@clefroom.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Data retention
GA4 user-level event data is retained for 2 months; aggregated, de-identified reports may be retained on an ongoing basis. Information you submit, such as a waitlist email, is retained for as long as needed for the purpose you provided it or as required by law.
Children's privacy
The Website is intended for users who are at least 13 years old and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last modified" date shown above. Your continued use of the Website after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
